Necrotic slimes are a mystery in the world of slimology. It's not because of what they are, but rather, what they do. These slimes will often be seen around the freshly deceased. Instead of eating this carcass, these slimes will begin to puppeteer the corpse, trying it's best to make the dead creature look alive. Slimologists aren't entirely sure what the purpose of this behaviour is, but their best guesses are that it's either to protect the carcass, which will be eaten when the body decomposes, or to protect the slime, who would benefit from having a larger animal around.
Glow slimes are slimes that have mastered bioluminescence. Their brilliant amber glow is the brightest of any slime (which isn't really saying much, the only other glowing slimes are the spectral ones). These slimes are bright enough to cause minor retinal damage, so it's advised you protect your eyes and to not look directly at the slime.
Water elementals are almost always found in bodies of fresh water (e.g. lakes, rivers, ponds, cenotes), but there have been reports of water elementals in the sea. Freshwater elementals and seawater elementals are very different, despite being essentally the same type of being! Freshwater elementals(top) are bringers of peace and prosperity and a fisherman's best friend, while seawater elementals(bottom) are fearsome entities that started the myth of the Kraken by sinking ships with octopus tentacles. The best way to avoid a seawater elemental sinking your ship is to offer a sacrifice, preferably of alcohol or meat, but NEVER of human.
Spectral slimes are a species of slime that, in many ways, could be mistaken for a ghost. Their mantle glows a creepy bluish-green colour, which is caused by symbiotic microbes. These slimes can also reduce their opacity to almost zero, allowing them to slip by threats easily. They also tend to be easily upset.
Primitive slimes are highly important in the field of slimology due to their apparent split from other slimes millions of years ago. Due to their divergence, they lack most sensory receptors except for a pair of simple eyes. These slimes are also less viscous and less intelligent compared to later generations of slimes.

Slime Bestiary Vol. II: Nightmare slimes
Nothing is known about these slimes outside of what they look like and how efficient their hunts are. If you spot this slime, it is too late.
