…I was tryna be nice but… I’m boutta throw hands if this woman even thinks for a second that is okay to say to someone.
I knew a lot of people think art isn’t a career, but from someone you USED TO like, from someone who has a daughter in graphic design in college, from someone you trusted, being told that you won’t make it anywhere with YOUR art. Not just any art, your art isn’t good enough, your art isn’t inspiring, it’s just some dumb hobby, you’re smart, you can put your studies first and you can make it in a real job. That hurts someone. How could you say that to a 13 year old student who you know is dealing with a lot right now, who you know sees art as one of the only good things in their life right now, how could you just say that like it’s nothing and it’s okay. Sure I’m smart, doesn’t mean I like it, doesn’t mean that’s what I want from life, and it isn’t because being smart will only send me into a dark deep hole of depression.
Not only that she tried to dictate who I was like she was fucking all-knowing or some shit. If I say I’m not left-brained then I’m not left-brained and that is that. Just because you think I’m something doesn’t mean I am that thing until I say otherwise. I say who I am not you.
If we had been closer, a comment like that might’ve just made me go into a straight up mental breakdown to the point where I would feel like nothing is even worth it anymore, can you imagine that for a moment. What a bitch, I’m glad I’ll never see her face again.
Okay-so, my sister can draw, for a 10 year old she draws pretty well. And so, SO many people have told her art wouldn't get her anywhere, specifically from my father. And me and my mother still try to motivate her to have like an art career or whatever-'cause like-she has gotten awards for drawing at school-LIKE MORE THAN I EVER GOT IN ELEMENTARY IN ART. 'Cause we both go to the same school-(it's a Pre-K through 8th.)
I have been told that I can't become a computer software engineer 'cause I think math "differently", and that I should become an engineer as well(I have a small interest into engineering, but not much.)-but that doesn't interest me. Fuck her-don't listen to her. You can be anything you want, as long as you put time and effort into it-and thats what my mother has always told me-for example, one of the High Schools on my list (btw, my mom wants to put me in this one just 'cause its a charter-) is like-a regular High School. But it has NOTHING I want to study. And for the past 5 months I've been telling my mother how I don't want that to be my 3rd choice, and I wanted another school instead. 'Cause the 1st High School I applied to was for IT-Networking, and its a magnet school and everything-and like the 2nd one is just Computer Science. and the 3rd, well-it's just a full on tech/computer program. But yeah-I've been told I can't be a computer program or nothing because of the way I see math, and how my English is "bad." And my father had the audacity to blame it on my mom 'cause of how she didn't take me to school earlier when he CLEARLY told her to not take me. And for that reason, I was a mute child for a good 3 years-and I couldn't read well, at ALL. And people STILL tell me after like-10 years that I can't read well and stuff, and how when you work math it's always wrong-and you don't like to solve problems-or that I'm lazy. Yeah-call me lazy when I was the leader of my robotics team bitch, or how I was the one who programmed the most, or how I gave the ideas for our design for our robot? And how I wasn't even controlling while doing this?
My point here is that NOBODY can tell you what YOU want to do. It's your future-and like, do whatever you want-we only live once.

One thing that I don’t like about math tho, you can’t drop it. Imma be honest with you here, any, and I mean ANY, math you take in high school, it’s all pointless. None of it is actually gonna matter except for special occasions where your future career uses math, which isn’t likely. Either you get the right to drop math in high school or you take math, but life skills math. Things you will actually need, unless you sign up for MATH math by yourself.

Math is easy, and even then you don't really NEED to pass any math in highschool, just get the basics, depending on your job in the future you wont really need any of it. Anyways for me its my favorite, easiest, and most enjoyable class. Im usually helping everyone else anyways.

It’s not even likely that they would enter a job that requires that math since most people don’t like math and most people go into office jobs rather than any other job. The lifeguard noticed someone drowning, so he jamp in to save them. The person was literally blue in the face when he saved them, if if weren’t for him, they would be dead.
But to everyone’s surprise, he was fired the next day. You see at this beach every lifeguard has a zone they watch over at the beach. The drowning person was in another lifeguard’s zone. The person working in that zone didn’t notice the drowning person so the lifeguard in question took matters into his own hands. Basically they were suggesting that he let the person drown just because they were in another zone.
Upon hearing about this, all the other lifeguards quit saying that they would rather save lives than follow stupid company rules.
