This is maru, she's a siren infected with a deadly deepsea parasite, and though research is being made to hopefully one day find a cure, her death is imminent
She hides her eyes because she's got tentacles sprouting out of one of them and she's self conscious
She lives in the midnight zone at the very bottom of the ocean

Likes: sad music. It makes her feel better about herself.

She used to be human but something wierd happened. Maybe a strange new disease? Or a type of bacteria? She doesn't really know. But whatever it was. It got rid of her lungs. Replaced them with gills and almost suffocated her when she woke up but she did end up being sent to the hospital and putility in some water so she survived. Anyway. The doctors and scientists were unable to find out what happened to her. She was let put into the sea. She didn't know what to do with her new fish life. So she just did whatever. One day, she was swimming when all of a sudden she felt weak, and fainted. She woke up with brusies scars and cuts. Also laying down in a very deep pit at the bottom of the ocean. She swam out and began looking around to and unfamiliar surrounding. She list it and burst into tears. She covers up all her scars and bruises as she thought they made her look "worse than she already does" and just decided to continue her life. She has more of a traumatic past but that's really all you need to know bc that past is useless.
